Coventry Building Society x CO-OP Bank merge
Objective
In early 2025, Coventry Building Society announced its acquisition of Co-operative Bank a significant moment that brought together two organisations with remarkably aligned ethical values and community-focused principles. Myself and the rest of design studio were tasked with creating the visual campaign to communicate this merger to the public, emphasising the shared ethos that made these brands natural partners.
The campaign centred on a bold, confident visual identity that celebrated the union of both organisations while maintaining the distinct character of each brand. Using a vibrant colour palette that bridged Coventry's signature blue with Co-op's recognisable identity, I developed a suite of assets including large-format outdoor advertising, digital displays, and supporting marketing materials. The messaging was designed to reassure customers that this wasn't simply a corporate acquisition, but a values-driven partnership between two organisations committed to doing business differently.
The campaign launched across major cities including Coventry, Birmingham, London and Manchester, utilising high-impact billboard placements and digital screens to maximise visibility and build awareness of the merger. The strategic rollout in these key locations helped establish the combined entity's presence in both brands' core markets, demonstrating the scale and ambition of this new partnership while maintaining the trusted, community-centered approach both organizations are known for.
